Muluya confident against Simba

Kariobangi Sharks FC head coach William Muluya says Tanzanian giants Simba SC will head into the Super Cup clash against them as the favorites but his target is to upset the Tanzanian champions, with his focus being on advancing to the competition's final.

Sharks was drawn to play the Tanzanian Premier League champions on Monday 3 June, the second day of the tournament and the coach is happy to head head to match as underdogs.

With Simba being favorites, Muluya knows the Tanzanian side will bear the most pressure heading to the match.

Appetite for success

"Simba are the league champions in Tanzania so definitely they are favorites going into the match. I've always loved being considered an underdog, that somehow increases my appetite for success. Our target is to get to the final and for that to happen we first must beat Simba to progress and that's what we shall aim to achieve in our opening match," he said.

Sharks will be making their first appearance in the competition which was launched in 2017 and won by Gor Mahia, who beat AFC Leopards in Tanzania. The winner of the Sharks-Simba match will face the winner of the clash between Yanga and the other debutantes Kakamega Homeboyz.

The final will be played on Sunday 10 June 2018
