Sharks moved up to 5th place in the standings with a hard fought win against Western Stima FC in a league match played today at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Both teams started the match on a high note but it was Sharks who created most chances in the half with Paul Kamau and Mathew Odongo coming close to opening the scoring for Sharks before half time, Western Stima's defence line managing to contain the threats to ensure that the match headed into the break goalless.

Sharks would up their tempo in the match and with 20 minutes to go, the coach brought in Francis Manoa in the place of Mathew Tayo and seven minutes after coming in, Manoah gave us the lead slotting the ball home from a Duke Abuya's pass inside the box. Masoud Juma came close to extending our lead in the dying minutes of the match but he was denied by the crossbar.

The win comes as a relief and brings to an end a run of four matches without a win in the league. Sharks next assignment will be away to Sony Sugar FC in Awendo on Sunday.

Sharks cruised into the GOtv Shield semi finals with an easy 5-0 win against Eldoret Youth FC in a match played this afternoon in Nyayo Stadium.

Masoud Juma gave us the lead heading into the half and the floodgates would open in the second half with Sharks adding four more goals courtesy of Duke Abuya, Masoud Juma, Sven Yidah and Ebrima Sanneh.

We play Sony Sugar FC in the GOtv Shield semis next month. This will be the second time in a row that Sharks will be playing in the semis and the squad would relish the chance of making it into the finals for the first time.

Masud Juma  is  part of the national team Harambee Stars team that has been summoned to camp by head coach Stanley Okumbi ahead of their FIFA International friendly clash against Mozambique on Sptember 2.

He hopes to receive his second cap in the  friendly  match  after his first cup been earned in the previous African  cup of qualifying match against Sierra Leone which Kenya lost 1-0 to the Host.

He is set to report to camp after our  Gptv shield cup Quarterfinals match against Eldoret Youth Tomorrow at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS) Before departing for  Mozambique on Thursday  31 August .

The Sharks during a training session in Kakamega ahead of the weekend match against KK Homeboyz FC.

The Sharks arrived in Kakamega and conducted a light training session yesterday as they get ready for the SPL Round 19 match against Kakamega Homeboyz, the match scheduled to be played on Saturday, 5th August 2017 at the Mumias Complex.

Both teams come into this match in need of a win having lost their last league matches, Sharks losing 3-2 against Zoo FC while KK Homeboyz fell 1-0 to Mathare United FC in the last round of matches.

The two sides last met in a league match in Machakos with the match ending in a barren draw, the second time the match has ended goalless in the three encounters between the sides.

Sharks will have to do without a host of players who are out through injuries/suspensions. Elli Asieche and Ebrimma Sanneh missed the last game against Zoo FC due to injuries and the duo will face a late fitness test to access their possibility of featuring in the match against KK Homeboyz FC. Pascal Ogweno who's been a constant figure at the back, is ruled out of the contest having received a red card in our last match.

Sharks are currently 6th on the league standings with 27 points from 18 matches, KK Homeboyz on the hand lie 9th with 24 points from the same number of matches.

Head to Head Record:

April 11th 2015: KK Homeboyz [0] - K-Sharks [0] - Bukhungu Stadium

Sept' 19th 2015: K-Sharks [2] - KK Homeboyz [1] - Thika Stadium

July 15th 2017: K-Sharks [0] - KK Homeboyz [0] - Machakos Stadium.

It was a disappointing  afternoon as we dropped two points against Zoo FC yesterday at Nyayo Stadium. Sharks were the better side heading into the break as we created more chances but couldn't convert. soon after the break Ebrima Sanneh gave us the lead when he beat the offside trap to head home a Paul Kamau cross.

Zoo would equalize moments later and efforts by the boys to get us the three points bore no fruits as the match ended in a one-all draw. Sharks will be travelling to Kericho for the reverse fixture on Wednesday and the team will be hoping for a better result.

We remain rooted in 5th Position with 27 points, 4 points behind the league leaders.
