The first leg of the 2019/20 season has undoubtedly been the toughest period Kariobangi Sharks have faced during their three year stay at the Kenyan Premier League. With only one win in 12 games, the pressure is surely piling.
Such times call for leadership and togetherness according to assistant captain Patila Omoto who spoke to us after the Tuesday morning training session.
“We know it is a difficult moment. For most of us, we have never been in such a situation. It not where we want to be. Everyone is pulling together and as the leaders in the team, we are trying to psych up the squad, to have that belief once again.”
He added, “Great players also show their other side in times like this. I believe we have mentally strong players and now is the time to show that. The time to fight for this badge. We will keep pushing hard.”
Up next for the Sharks is a Friday evening home game against Tusker FC.
