ALL STARS 1-0 SHARKS: A LATE GOAL PUNISHES THE SHARKS

An 89th minute own-goal by Amani Kyata was the difference as hosts Kisumu All Stars beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 at the Moi Stadium Kisumu in a Kenyan Premier League match day 9 fixture. This was Sharks fourth loss of the season which now leaves them lurking at an unfamiliar 15th place on the log while the Kisumu All Stars registered their maiden win in the top flight.

Coach William made two changes to his starting lineup bringing in James Mazembe, and Amani Kyata in place of Shiveka and Yidah while Sydney Lokale started his second successive game of the season at centre forward.

After a goalless first half, Sven Yidah and Harrison Mwendwa were introduced after the interval in place of Eric Juma and James Mazembe as the Sharks looked to pile more pressure on the hosts. After dominating play for long spells of the 2nd half but not scoring, Sharks were meant to rue their chances as Kyata was unlucky to turn the ball into his own net in the 89th minute. The hosts held on despite the late pressure from the Sharks.
