DUKE ABUYA DELIGHTS IN OPENING GOAL ACCOUNt
The win over Chemelil came as a huge sigh of relief the boys had endured a rough patch of a four-game win less run. The weekend win was a labored one, as the boys held on to a one goal lead for almost 35 minutes courtesy of a Patilah Omoto opener in the 53rd minute before Duke Abuya settled the nerves in the 88th minute with a well taken goal.
The midfielder spoke to us of the feeling after the match;
On the goal…
When I received the ball, I had only one thing in my mind and that was to hit the target. I saw the keeper rush out of his line and I quickly slotted it I the far end. I knew how important it was that w get the second goal and I am happy I helped the team in that regard.
On his season targets…
Every day, I am working on the scoring aspect of my game. It is an area I know I can do better. I improved my goals tally last season and I want to do that this season again. I am unhappy that I have been slow to start my scoring but now that is behind me. I want to build on this and to continue scoring more and more goals. This season, my target is to hit ten goals as the minimum.
Having finished with four goals last season, this means that he has to add at least six more goals to achieve his targets. With 29 more games to go, it is very much possible that he will achieve it.
