FKFPL: Sharks hold off Tusker to earn a point at Ruaraka

The Sharks drew 1-1 with reigning FKF Premier League champions Tusker FC in a round 14 clash played at the Ruaraka grounds on Saturday.

In-form Tyson Otieno scored five minutes into the second half but with 12 minutes remaining, David Majak would rise from the bench and equalise for the hosts to force a share of the spoils.

The draw, our seventh of the season, leaves us in 12th place with 16 points.

After a goalless opening half in which Tusker were rampant, the lads began the second half with more intent and got a deserved goal in the 50th minute. Julius Masaba, deployed in the right wingback position, whipped in a superb cross into the area that Tyson blasted into the top right corner.

It was the attacking midfielder’s fifth goal of the campaign that has him tied at the top of the scorer’s chart with Kevin Musamali.

After the goal, the lads retreated and started playing more behind the ball looking to pounce with fast breaks. This proved to be detrimental as Tusker created wave after wave of attack until finally, they got the breakthrough when the substitute Majak got ahead of his markers after 78 minutes and rifled a shot on the half volley past John Otieno in goal.
