HARRISON MWENDWA EAGER TO SHINE AGAIN IN DAR
Our diminutive winger Harrison Mwendwa was the darling of the fans the last time we played Yanga SC in Tanzania. His dazzling runs and trickery caught many eyes. We linked up with him today ahead of our trip to Tanzania and this is what he had to say
How Many times have you been to Tanzania?
I have played there twice. My first time was way back when I turned up for the Kenya Under 20 national team and my second time was early this year as we lifted the Sportpesa Cup. This weekend will be my third visit.
How does it feel to play in Dar es Salaam?
It feels really good. It is a buzzing coastal city with good people who appreciate good football. I always want to play in front huge crowds and in football crazy cities.
So what is the mood in the team ahead of the Tanzanian visit?
Well, we are having a good time in our pre-season. Everybody is working hard; the coaches are pushing us hard so that we can be ready for the season. So we are feeling ready and confident and we just want to continue giving our best.
What Impact did the game against Everton have on the team?
I can say it left a big impact. We played in front of a sold out crowd and against world class players which was a fantastic experience. We learned a lot, and we gained lots of confidence since we proved that we can compete with the best.
Which kind of atmosphere do you expect in Dar?
I expect a buzzing crowd full of love and passion, cheering every move and supporting good football. It is a big day for Yanga and so the fans are psyched up.
