INTERNATIONAL DUTY: ABUYA, LOKALE AND OYEMBA FEATURE AS KENYA FALLS TO TANZANIA
While we were facing Yanga in Dar es Salaam, four of our players were with the Kenyan National team the Harambee Stars in Nairobi for a CHAN 2020 qualifier assignment.
Duke Abuya and John Oyemba kept their place in the starting line-up after making their debut last weekend while Sydney Lokale was also handed his debut with a starting berth.
For Oyemba it was his second clean sheet in as many matches as he kept the Tanzanian attackers at bay the entire 90 minutes. Duke Abuya also clocked 90 minutes while Sydney Lokale played for 72 minutes.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Harambee Stars as they failed to find the back of the net despite dominating the play for better part of the game.
After a barren draw, the game headed to penalties and the Tanzanians scored all four of their spot kicks while Kenya only managed one out of three.
The lost meant that Kenya are out of contention for a place in the 2020 CHAN Qualifiers.
