INTERNATIONAL DUTY WATCH

Kenya’s Harambee Stars played to a 1-1 draw against Uganda Canes in an international friendly match played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.

With three sharks players initially called up, only Samuel Olwade and Duke Abuya made it to the match day squad.

Samuel Olwade Debut

Samuel Olwade got his national team debut starting at the heart of the Kenyan four man defence line. The lanky centre back was solid at the back with good build up play, handling aerial threats and long ball distribution occasionally. He clocked 68 minutes before being substituted as the coach tried out several other players.

Duke Abuya

Midfielder Duke Abuya also had his chance coming into play as a second half substitute. He was introduced in the 80th minute and had some flashes of brilliance as he tried helping the Kenya team score what became an elusive winning goal.

The two will rejoin their teammates on Tuesday and join in the preparations for the next league match against AFC Leopards.
