KITS FOR AFRICA: COACH JOINS EVERTON LEGENDS IN THE HOOD
The first batch of Everton Football club arrived in the country on Wednesday ahead of their playing unit arriving on Saturday morning.
Today was a day to be remembered as residents of Kariobangi got to see former English Premier League stars Steve Peinarrand Leon Osman in the midst of their hood for the very first time.
They were in the company of Coach William Muluhya who was hosting them in conjunction with SportPesa. The giant betting company which has sponsored the Everton in Kenya tour was extending the Kits For Africa initiative to Kariobangi area. The initiative seeks to equip grassroots teams with playing kits.
The event which was hosted at the Kariobangi North Primary grounds saw 45 grassroots teams based in Nairobi receive full sets of playing kits.
This is part of the community based activities that the England based club will be taking part in as a wider sphere of the Everton in Kenya tour.
The teams also had some interactive sessions, with the two legends giving much needed advice to the up and coming, while some also got an opportunity to take selfies for keeps.
Meanwhile, the tickets continue to be sold at SportPesa kiosks around the CBD, at TRM and at Kariobangi North.
We look forward to seeing you at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.
