LOKALE LOOKING TO HIT SOFAPAKA AGAIN
He was the first Sharks player to score against Sofapaka in the league in what was the only win the Sharks have against Sofapaka in a 1-0 victory away at the Narok Stadium. He also scored in the dramatic 3-2 victory over the same opponent in the 2018 FKF Cup final.
Sydney Lokale has now set his sights on the weekend fixture where the Sharks play their first game of the decade.
“I am upbeat, everybody is upbeat. We are working hard towards the weekend game. We want to start the year on a positive note. I have scored against them twice and it definitely gives me the confidence to go out there and do it again.”
He also noted the similarities in form between the January 4th fixture and the 25th August 2018 fixture that he scored the only goal to help the Sharks beat Sofapaka 1-0;
“Back in 2018, we were on some bad form before we met them. However it was the game that we turned things around. We ended our bad run against them and went on to stabilize our form and beat them again a few months later in the FKF Shield Cup where also turns things around with that great comeback. That is what we want to repeat on Saturday, and I am confident that we can do it.”
