NICKSON: COACH WILLIAM RELATIONSHIP CONVINCED ME

Left Back, Nickson Omondi becomes our first signing this transfer window. He joins us from from National Super League side, Police FC where he had established himself as one of the most exciting prospects of the division.
He spoke to Sharks Digital in his first interview as a Shark, just minutes after putting to paper.
Q:How does it feel to join Kariobangi Sharks FC?
If you look at Sharks, it”s a team that has been getting stronger and stronger, scaling through the ranks and now they are the top flight where they are putting up a strong fight. So I am really happy to join the team and be part of the amazing project.
Q: You had offers several from elsewhere, why did you choose Sharks?
The major reason that made me join Sharks is the relationship I have with Coach Kanu. He has been my coach when I was playing at under 12 and under 14 categories so to get the opportunity to work with him again is good for me.
Q: You have been training with the team for a week now, what has been the reception?
The captain received me well on day one like a big brother. Then I also got a few friends in the team who I have played with before. I have grown in the same hood with Oyemba and Harrison, I have also played with Patilla and Kapaito in local tournaments. So it has been warm for me.
Q: So what are your targets now that you are a Shark?
Where I am coming from I was a regular starter, so my first target is to break into the starting team and establish myself as regular. Secondly, it is to help the team win more titles now that we already have the first one. I just want to do my best to make sure the team gets better and better.

The coach has had to do with make-shift left backs last season whenever Bolton Omwenga was absent but now he finds a natural cover and it will be interesting to see how the two complement each other and offer the team much needed depth in a looming congestion of fixtures.
