NZOIA 1-1 SHARKS: ABUYA’S EQUALIZER SALVAGES A POINT FOR THE SHARKS

The coach made some changes to his line up, giving Kenyan international Sydney Lokale his first start of the season as Kapaito was rested, while Tanzanian international Amani Kyata was also slotted into the defence in place of Samuel Olwande. The midfield remained unchanged with Shaphan Oyugi starting his third game in a row alongside Omoto and Yidah.

The fourth league trip to Nzoia Sugar Fc’s Sudi Stadium proved to be a proper battle as the teams played to a 1-1 draw. The hosts had taken the lead in the 16th minute but Duke Abuya’s strike, his 2nd goal of the season, leveled matters in the 35th minute to send the game to the break at one all.

Second half efforts to find a second goal for both teams didn’t bear fruits and they were both forced to settle for a point a piece, this being the 2nd time a game against the two sides ended in a draw.
