SAKARI LOOKING TO BUILD ON FIRST START

Daniel Sakari was handed his first club since joining the club as Sharks battled it out to a
goalless draw against Mathare in the Slum Derby. He made a good account of himself, being the
best performer in the Sharks side, and possibly, man of the match in the fixture.
The speed star, who can play as a fullback or midfield right troubled the opponents defence with
his menacing runs and managed seven crosses into the opponent’s box and nearly caught the
keeper napping with his early snap shot.
The BSc Mathematics student spoke to us and had this to say:
“I am happy to get my first start for the club. Ever since I joined, I have been working towards
getting myself in the first team. I am not yet there, but I hope this is a start of something great. I
want to continue putting in the hard work and playing according to the instructions of my
coach.”
On whether he prefers playing as a defender or as a right winger…
“I am ready to do anything to help the team. Wherever the coach feels like I can do better, I will
play. Different situations and games will call for different approaches and that is for the coach to
decide.”
The winger is in contention for a place in the next match away to Chemilil Sugar FC.
