Kenya Under 20 finished second in the CECAFA Under 20 championship after going down 1-0 to Tanzania in the final match. The youngsters had displayed some fine football to get to the finals where they came up against a team that they had drew with in the group stage on a 2-2- score line.
Brian Bwire led the side as captain and was unfortunate to concede from an own goal which proved to be the difference. Tom Teka clocked a solid 90 minutes in defense while Sydney Lokale’s and Patrick Otieno’s efforts in attack were not enough to break the Tanzanians.
The championships provided an opportunity for the youngsters to get some international exposure and we will be hoping to see them in national team colors once again in the near future.
