Sharks rampant in Muhoroni

The Sharks were resounding 3-1 winners over Wazito FC on Wednesday in a rescheduled FKF Premier League match played at the Muhoroni Stadium.

Paul Odhiambo scored a brace with a goal on either side of Fortune Omoto’s lone strike to secure our fifth win of the season that ultimately lifts us up to 10th on the standings with 23 points.

Coach William Muluya made two changes to the side that started in the win over Sofapaka last time out, bringing back Paul Odhiambo and Keith Imbali for Shariff Musa and Sigmunn Maina.

The game started on a bad note when Matthew Kibiwott was forced off in the 11th minute after sustaining an injury to his knee. This however did little to deter the lads from the task at hand and seven minutes later, the deadlock had been broken.

A sweet passing move from central midfield released Geoffrey Onyango on the left flank and with one swing of his left foot, the defender set up Odhiambo to power a header in from close range in the 18th minute.

The lead didn’t last for long as the hosts would equalise three minutes later but our lead would soon be restored when captain Omoto showed good skill to leave his marker in a heap before beating the Wazito keeper at his near post in the 25th minute.

With a lead to protect, the lads resulted to playing more on the fast break for the reminder of the game and this worked to perfection when Odhiambo doubled his tally for the afternoon with a close range finish after racing to a cross from the left engineered by Onyango in the 54th minute.

And that is how it would end with the Sharks securing back to back wins for only the second time this season and they will plan to make it three for the first time this season when they face off with Marula FC in the FKF Cup this weekend.
