UNDER 13 SIDE WINS NATIONAL LEAGUE
Kariobangi Sharks Under 13 side were crowned champions of the inaugural FKF Elite Under 13 League following their 2-2 draw against second placed Mathare United Under 13 on Sunday . The junior version of the Slum Derby, played at Camp Toyoyo, was an entertaining affair with Humphrey Omondiscoring a brace.
The draw, the only one of the season, saw the boys finish with 31 points from 11 matches. They have completed the season unbeaten winning 10 matches in a row before this final league match.
This was the first time the country was holding a national league for the under 13 category and thus it will go down in history that Kariobangi Sharks were the first winners.
Having overcome opposition from well established soccer academies and producing the top two scorers, it is clear that there is lots of potential in our juniors and encourages the management to continue investing in the future.
